Aleksandra Domagalik, PhD

In 2009, I finished studies at the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian Universityand received MSc degree in biophysics.

In 2015, I defended PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Wojciech Froncisz and Prof. Tadeusz Marek at the same Faculty. During PhD project I studied diurnal variability of human neural networks activity using functional connectivity measures on fMRI data.

During 3-month internship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA and 6-month internship at the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands I gained valuable experience in fMRI technique as well as in planning and conducting neuroimaging experiments and data analysis. Beside fMRI, I also have experience with EEG studies.

My research interests focus on understanding human brain functioning in terms of neural networks. I use fMRI, high-resolution structural MRI, diffusion tensor imaging, and neuropsychological methods to study attention, conflict processing, memory. I am interested in the influence of light, circadian rhythms and sleep on human cognition and neural activity.
